My story

My teaching career began in the UK, before I moved to Australia and continued teaching French to secondary students in Western Australia. Over more than 26 years across both countries, I have seen first-hand what helps students genuinely fall in love with the language — and what leaves them memorising vocabulary lists without ever feeling confident enough to actually speak it.

That experience led me to develop the CERCLE™ Method, a six-phase pedagogical framework built around Culture, Écoute, Rythme, Construction, Langue and Expression. It is designed specifically for the Australian classroom — grounded in real curriculum needs, not adapted from someone else's system.

Today, through Erudits, I share that method and the resources built around it with schools, teachers, students and families who want a better way into the French language and culture.
