MEET THE JURY
My name is Stella Sulak
I am a French theatre director and mother of four. I have been involved in the arts industry for over 25 years, mainly in France, but also in the USA, Belgium, Costa Rica, and, since 2014, in Australia.
In 2015, I founded Perth French Theatre with a simple but powerful idea: to share my passion for theatre and language. I dreamed of creating a space where people from all backgrounds could come together, connected by a common desire: to speak French. A space where they could safely reconnect with the transformative power of imagination.
Ten years later, that dream is alive and thriving. Perth French Theatre has staged 14 productions, blending professionalism with the joyful spirit of amateur theatre. Every year, more and more of you join this incredible adventure, and it fills me with gratitude.
I am deeply passionate about crafting high-quality performances and raising the bar for community theatre.
It has been an insane, beautiful journey, and it continues—with you.
Thank you for being part of it.”
Jacques Bernard
The Man Behind the Magic of French Literature in Australia!
Founder of Le Forum, Australia’s very first French bookshop, and visionary creator of the legendary Van du Livre, Jacques has devoted his life to bringing the beauty of French books and culture to communities far and wide. Over 200,000 kilometres travelled, countless encounters in schools, universities, festivals, and Alliances Françaises—his mission is as inspiring as it is heartfelt:
“Transmettre la richesse de la langue française et le plaisir de la lecture.”
We are beyond honoured to have Jacques join us as a judge this year—his passion, experience, and love for the French language will make this competition unforgettable!
Céline HIOL LOMBARDO
I am the director of a preschool in La Réunion, in a neighbourhood designated as a reinforced priority education area (REP+). Every day, I engage enthusiastically with the children to offer them a nurturing, stimulating, and open-minded learning environment.
My professional journey has taken me from adult education to teaching in primary school, always driven by a passion for sharing knowledge, guiding others, and embracing pedagogical innovation. I also serve as a trainer and mentor for beginning teachers, firmly convinced that we grow together through a spirit of collaboration.
Participating in the Dictées d’Or is, for me, a wonderful opportunity to celebrate the French language as a living connection between cultures, a tool for empowerment, and a joy to be shared. Theatre, reading, travel, and cultural involvement are also part of my personal balance and enrich my perspective as an educator.
