Welcome

The Érudits Curriculum Book Club is a professional and welcoming space designed for French teachers to come together, exchange ideas, and explore how carefully selected texts can be used effectively in the classroom.

This book club is not a lecture or a formal training session. It is a conversation-led, teacher-focused gathering, where curriculum, pedagogy, and practical classroom use come together in a relaxed and supportive environment.

Whether you are an experienced senior teacher or new to teaching French, you are warmly invited to join us.

Focus of This Session

This session will focus on how to use curriculum-aligned literary texts with senior secondary students, with practical discussion around two Érudits paperback publications:

Entre deux mondes – Year 11

A narrative text centred on daily routine, everyday life, and personal experience. This book is particularly well suited to:

  • Building and recycling high-frequency vocabulary

  • Reinforcing core grammar structures

  • Supporting written and oral tasks at senior secondary level

  • Preparing students for extended responses in Year 11 courses

La technologie à la croisée des chemins – Year 12

A thematically rich text exploring technology, society, ethics, and modern life. This book supports:

  • Critical thinking and discussion

  • Theme-based analysis

  • ATAR-style writing and interpretation tasks

  • Preparation for senior assessments and examinations

During the session, we will explore themes, curriculum links, and practical classroom exploitation ideas for both texts.
